Other projects

The Orphanage


The Uddam Foundation looks after the orphans. It is regarded as moral liability. The child home has been set up with a view to carrying out this responsibility. This home ensures comfortable and healthy environment possessing 100 decimal lands. This campus consists of a playground and a pond. Children study here in a sound environment.



The country does not have sufficient infrastructure to provide child services and place orphan children in proper foster care. As a result, children without parents often end up in the street. Uddam is trying its best within its capabilities to address the issue and provide a decent living condition and education opportunities to Orphan children. 27 orphan children are staying at the home currently and more than 50 children had graduated since the establishment.



Daily meals are prepared in the wood burning stoves.

The School

Education is the critical long terms means for a country to break out of poverty and related challenges. Back in 2014, Uddam started the school deep in the Brammandi village of Madaripur district as a pilot project. The demand, participation and appreciation was overwhelming. The school grew rapidly and Uddam soon expanded to a newly constructed building to accomodate more students and classes. This was a milestone achievement for the organization. The new building was inaugarated in 2017.

Women Empowerment



Empowering women is key to alleviate poverty. Uddam runs several programs to help women learn new skills and become productive. One of the most popular and successful programs Uddam has been running is the 3-month Sewing Training Workshop. The 42nd workshop just finished last November.



Taposhi Kundu refuse to accept a poverty-striken future for her children. She dreams of sending her children to school and their graduation one day. She is not willing to work hard. Mother of two - a lovely girl and a restless boy, Taposhi determines learn a professional skill so that she can work an contribute tot he earning of the family. She joined the 3-month long 42nd Uddam Sewing Training Workshop. Upon completion she started taking orders from the local customer. Nowadays she earns 5000-6000 taka every month. Even though her husband Dulal Kundu was intially hesistant, he is very happy at the outcome now. Taposhi's example is also inspiring other families and women within the village.

Merit & Need-based Scholarship Program



The poor talented students have the option to avail of the uddam talent pool scholarship. In every year, uddam talent pool scholarship is given to thirty five (35) students who are advantageous in merit but cannot carry on study for the lack of money. The 2015 ceremony was featured in the national daily - the Daily Nayadiganta.

Medical Camps



Uddam brings mobile medical camps and mobile eye camps to the rural people often with limited or no access to modern medical facilities.

Farming the future



The goal of sustainable fish farming is two fold - (1) teach the fish farming process orphange pupils and (2) show how fish farming can be a solid earning source in a land of rivers

Uddam runs basic literacy program for the Harijan people - one of the lowest caste of Hindus in the region.
